What was the significance of the Instagram Swipe-Up feature?
Instagram’s swipe up feature (RIP) Instagram swipe function (RIP) used to be a feature that allowed influencers and brands to connect with their followers through direct links to their Instagram Stories by putting an arrow on the bottom of the screen, which would typically read “Swipe upwards.” This feature was available only to verified accounts or users with more than 10K followers. For those who were lucky, that be confirmed, there was no need for “link to bio” captions for messages.
In August 2021, Instagram removed the swipe-up feature and substituted it with its Link Sticker for reasons still unknown. However, they released it to everyone, regardless of your followers count.
What’s the purpose of the Instagram URL sticker?
You’re probably familiar with Instagram’s stickers for songs, questions, locations, and polls. In addition, there’s a sticker that allows you to include links from external sources directly on your IG story without the need to send users to your profile or description.
It’s Instagram link sticker offers several advantages over the old swipe-uplink.

How do I add a hyperlink to an Instagram Story?
If you own a company or creator account on Instagram, You can now include hyperlinks to your Stories immediately and quickly. And do you know what? There’s no requirement to have a specific number of followers! You can include links to your Stories using Instagram’s latest Clickable Sticker Links.
These new stickers are much more noticeable than the swipe-up and can be placed wherever you’d like to include them on the Story (like with any different sticker). The sticker also displays the first portion of the destination link within the sticker, which allows being more transparent about the destination the viewers are going.

Here’s how to include the link in your Stories:
Step 1: Start the Instagram application from your smartphone. Tap the blue “+” sign next to Your Story profile picture or the plus icon located on the right-hand side of the display.
Step 2: Browse through your gallery on the left-hand side to choose your Story. Hit the middle record button (either tap to take photos or hold the button down to record the video) to create your Story directly. Ensure that it reads “Story” on end (and not Post Reels, Post and Live).
Step 3. Once you’ve finished creating your Story, Tap on the “Sticker” icon on the right side of the screen. From the menu of stickers, choose the link sticker.
Step 4: Copy and paste your link into the field for links.
Step 5: Change the color and the text by pressing the sticker.
You can publish your Story and then wait for the traffic to pour onto your website when you’re finished.

How to add a hyperlink on Instagram Stories
if you don’t have access to the Sticker Link just yet.
Although Instagram has introduced the ability to create stickers for all of its creators, some users are waiting to access your sticker link. However, we have a solution to help you out here.
Step 1: Log into Instagram and upload or create videos by clicking the plus button in the upper right corner or uploading an already uploaded video using your existing media.
Step 2: Enter the title, “Get the link.”
Step 3: Copy the link you would like users to click into the caption. After that, you can post the video on your IGTV.
Step 4. Tap on the icon for paper planes beneath your brand video in your feed. IGTV video.
Step 5: Choose the option “+ IGTV Video’ and then choose the IGTV video using the link you just made.
Step 6: Last but not least, click ‘Done,’ and watch the clicks roll in! (You will not be able to see it on your screen, but users can swipe upwards. They’ll be able to see your video and tap your link within the IGTV captions.)
